Homeowners
- An Energy Perfomance Certificate is a document that provides a rating demonstrating of the energy efficiency of your home, it's running costs and it's environmental impact.
- The certificate is valid for 10 years.
- By commissioning the Energy Performance Certificate yourself, you own it and are then free to market with your chosen estate agent.
Landlords
- Upon the first change of tenant after 1st October, 2008, an Energy Perfomance Certificate must be provided, and a copy issued to the tenant, in a similar way to the current requirements for the Gas Safety Record and Electrical Installation Certificate.
- One Energy Perfomance Certificate is required per individual dwelling.
- However, houses of multiple occupation such as student lets or sheltered accomodation have different certification requirements. In this case please contact us to discuss your individual portfolio.
